  • Smith was mayor of Mesa from 2008 til 2014. Prior to his years as mayor, he worked as a business executive and consultant.

  • Most recently he served as CEO of Valley Metro before retiring in 2022.

  • Winkle is a community & economic development professional. 

  • Has worked in the areas of small business technical assistance, housing options, workforce development, neighborhood revitalization and transit - oriented development.

  • He is the Executive Director at AZ Fair Housing Center, and the Chairman of AZ Asian Chamber of Commerce. He serves on many boards such as Mesa Urban Garden and the  ABAKA Foundation.
